I am new or this forum, any forum actually, and will get around to an introduction eventually…Anyway I see you struggling to get something for this theory and I couldn’t help but notice in the disputed letter the "smarter and better" language. Seems forced to me so try this out and see of it makes you want to look at the man in the photo. The writer scratched out a "bu" then shortly after uses "smarter and better". It starts with "I am" take the scratched out "bu" and from there you can spell "Burdett" using the letters. "bu" from the scratch out, "r" from "smarter", "d" from "and", "ett" from better…

it’s a stretch but I’m trying to help! Btw is there a section in the technology area that will teach me how not to take 15 minutes to post from an IPad? The Scotch tape riddle is in first order and it is his first name and I do think it is "Paul"
The scuba gear clue is the second one in order just like his last name is second in order written and I believe it has been broken

Paul Petrie from Vallejo, that same high school picture someone posted on this thread, he’s listed on his daughter’s birth certificate as a pipe fitter at Mare Island. A trade someone could describe as plumbing, I suppose.

The police report about Darlene’s murder has my name mentioning a suspect named Paul V Jennings. VPD were looking for a suspect named Paul for a while. This guy looked so much like the composite and acted odd, that I had to report him to George B. They did investigate Paul , he had a wife who gave him a alibi for the 4th of July.

I am working on a family tree of a certain surname. This young man was married at 16 and his bride was also 16. Shotgun marriage? The marriage lasted 10 years and ended in 1969. The last two children of four have a birth with his surname but it looks like the stepfather took over as they subsequently married going by his surname. He went on to have another 5 marriages that I can find so far and I cannot find divorce records for him…
Can you imagine someone who is bright but has to give up school and take low level work, first selling parts and then doing boiler maker trade.
Can you imagine someone bitter that their life was "ruined" due to going parking in a car in a remote spot?
Could this be him as a high schooler?
BTW, he was a coast guarder in Korea.

The address is 0.3miles from the Phone boot on the corner of Spring Rd and Tuolumne St.

But I can´t find Paul or Helen Petrie in the 1967 (no Vallejo 1968 phonebook in Ancestry.com) 1969 or 1970 California, City Directory.

There is only PP’s father Paul Petrie RETD (retired) on 1319 El Dorado St, Vallejo, CA 94590, USA in 1967, 1969 and 1970.

PPs mother: Katie Petrie nee Koehn 1905-1971 (died November 1971)
